Indigenous Relations & Joint Venture Partnerships

Focusing on sustainable development and environmental stewardship

INDIGENOUS RELATIONS

Prioritizing Indigenous Relations

Across our operations, we seek to develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships, and that is especially so with Indigenous Peoples and groups. Beyond actively seeking Indigenous workforce talent, we are a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) and are committed to ensuring employment and business opportunities wherever we operate.

We recognize and respect Indigenous rights and the importance of reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and all TARA team members are required to take our Aboriginal Awareness course to further understand the history, culture, politics, and impact of communications with Indigenous groups.

With dedicated community outreach efforts and support for notable charities including the Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Fund, we are proud to help build cultural understanding and create a path toward reconciliation, inclusivity, and understanding.

Blueberry river first nations

Blueberry River First Nations - Joint Venture Partnership

TARA Energy Services and Blueberry River First Nation work together in a JV Partnership focused on North East BC sustainable development.

Since the BC Supreme Court ruling in 2021 that protects and enforces the sustainability of Blueberry River’s lands and resources, the focus on delivering innovative technologies that support these goals has been paramount to the indigenous peoples that have lived on this land for thousands of years.

TARA is honoured to have the privilege of working closely with Blueberry River First Nation’s council and leadership to further our mutual sustainable development goals and ensure that BRFN’s land, culture, and Treaty 8 rights, are protected for generations to come.

TARA would like to acknowledge Treaties 6, 7 and 8, and the traditional Territories of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Peoples.
We recognize the land as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on, work on, or are visiting.
